So, what is Sports Massage?
You might be surprised to learn that you don't have to be into sport to benefit from Sports Massage ! Anyone with muscle damage will benefit, but sport is often a cause of such damage, hence the name. Sports massage brings modern understanding of anatomy and body function to the ancient art of massage. It combines deep tissue massage with muscle stretches and exercise advice. So whether you're an athlete wanting to return your muscles to peak condition or if you just suffer from, say, a stiff neck, bad back or tight legs, then Sports Massage Therapy is for you. My massage sessions are normally held at my studio. More...
Why do I need a Personal Trainer?
Personal Training is about motivating you to do exercise and showing you how to do the right type of exercises. The first step is to work out what you want to achieve and to set some goals. A tailor-made exercise programme will then be created just for you. After that we can meet as often or as infrequently as you like, to monitor how you're progressing, to review your programme and of course to do some serious work-out! Personal Training can be done wherever suits you, at my well equipped studio, at your home, a gym, park or office. More...
How are Personal Training and Sports Massage related?
The combination of massage and exercise is the best approach to performance enhancement and injury rehabilitation. Both these disciplines require an understanding of anatomy and how the body functions. You can book for either or both.
Pilates
I also teach Pilates 1 to 1 from my studio and in a small group class on Saturday mornings at the F.I.T. gym. Pilates is an excellant technique for improving flexibility and core strength and so is a perfect complement to massage therapy. More...
Spin
For a serious aerobic workout you can't do much better than a spin (cycling) class. I teach a group spin class at the F.I.T. gym 18.45-19.30 on Wednesday evenings. Please ask me for further details.
